SEMESTER 3
This is an advanced
writing course. Students survey functional grammar and develop accuracy in
using the mechanics of the English Language. It equips students to probe and
experiment with diverse forms of essays. It highlights research papers,
modifiers, parallelism, academic writing and helps students improve their
ability to write cohesive, coherent, concise, and clear academic prose. It also
explores strategies for building vocabulary in academic environment.

This course provides hands-on experience in integrating literacy skills into social studies for grades 1-6, focusing on creating lesson plans and teaching units, with objectives including analyzing interactions, reflecting on and implementing culturally relevant teaching strategies, assessing student progress, and maintaining professionalism and effective classroom management.

This course prepares teacher aspirants to select, organize, and present social studies content effectively for grades 1-6, with an emphasis on assessment and instructional efficacy, enabling them to define social studies, analyze its role in student development, and implement inclusive and differentiated teaching and assessment strategies within the Liberian curriculum.
